Jim Schroeder moved back home to the Kiester area to his family farm after spending 11 years in the Moorhead, Minnesota, area. In October 2007, he was hired to manage the agronomy business at Farmers Coop Association’s Kiester location.
Jim appreciates Farmers Coop’s customer service orientation and enjoys working with the company’s customers. “My challenge is continuing to grow the business here. We have an accelerated growth rate in the fertilizer and grain departments, so it has been fun that way,” he stated.
While living in Moorhead, Jim worked for a coop there in their petroleum division. The opportunity to return home came as his father moved off the farm. Jim now lives on the home place east of Kiester near Mansfield and farms the land.
Jim and his wife, Carol, have one grown son, Aaron, and a young grandson, Jeffrey. When he’s not working, Jim enjoys riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family’s lake cabin up north.
