Roger Barber, Assistant Manager 09/25/08 9:17:39 AM
Roger Barber has served the customers of Farmers Coop in Forest City since 1985. With the addition of the Kiester location, he took on new responsibilities as location manager there. He oversees day-to-day operations in Kiester and works with Randy Broesder, Farmers Coop’s general manager, on merchandising and grain. And Roger maintains his responsibilities in the petroleum department.
In Kiester, Roger coordinates the 1.3 million bushels of grain storage, feed mill, and fertilizer plant. All of the facilities are in good condition – particularly following the maintenance that took place when Farmers Coop took over.
Roger’s next task is to get to know the patrons of the Kiester location as well as the new staff. “We’re a service-oriented Coop,” he said. “I feel that’s been key to our success at Farmers Coop and it will help our effort to expand business in Kiester.”
With his new position, Roger looks forward to getting outside to work more with customers at the Kiester location and out in the country. “We’ve got a lot of potential growth here and I want to see that happen,” he stated.
One noticeable change in the Kiester office is new flooring. Along with new paint, the changes being made by Farmers Coop are being encouraged by customers. “They think we’re making positive changes,” Roger explained.
